Justin joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate Attorney in March of 2025. Prior to joining Lopez Law Group, Justin worked as a Training Compliance Analyst at a leading global bank.

Justin graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2021. While in law school, he assisted community members in resolving disputes through participation in Civil and Family mediation clinics.

Before law school, Justin graduated from SUNY Brockport with a Bachelor of Science in English Literature. 

Outside of work, Justin enjoys computer gaming, supporting Premier League club Arsenal, and spending time with his dog, Belle.

Katie is an Associate at Lopez Law Group, PLLC. 

Katie graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2021 and began her legal career practicing family law, probate law and estate planning. Expanding her legal expertise, Katie transitioned into corporate law, serving as in-house counsel for a global oil and gas service company where she specialized in commercial contract management, ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions. 

Prior to earning her Juris Doctorate, Katie graduated Magna Cum Laude from Stetson University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, with a focus in sports management. 

Katie Lugo is a licensed attorney in both Texas and Georgia. She serves on the board of Summerville/Trion Bancshares, Inc. and is the Chair of the Audit Committee of its subsidiary, Southeast First National Bank.  

Outside of the office, Katie enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, photography and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.

Griffin joined Lopez Law Group in December of 2024.

Before law school, Griffin attended Indiana University, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in 2021.

Griffin Graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in May of 2024. While there, Griffin was a Head Senior Articles Editor for the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy and completed UH Energy’s Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Executive Education Program.

Outside of work, Griffin enjoys fishing, strategy computer games, and supporting Indiana University athletics

Paul Guist joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate Attorney in the winter of 2024 after earning his Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School in Spring 2024 and passing the July 2024 bar exam.

During his time at Baylor Law, Paul participated in the Business Law Boot Camp and the Entrepreneurship Clinic, pursuing both the Business Planning and Business Litigation tracks. His experiences provided him with a solid foundation in transactional law and corporate dispute resolution.

Before attending law school, Paul graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Economics. Following his undergraduate studies, he worked as a professional photographer for eight years, specializing in automotive photography. His work in this field sharpened his attention to detail and cultivated a creative perspective, both of which he now brings to his legal practice.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time with his seven-year-old pitbull mix, Bullitt. He also pursues his passion for the visual arts through film and television critique, combining his creative interests with a thoughtful analytical approach.

Rick joined the Lopez Law Group California office as an Associate Attorney in November 2024.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law in May 2024 and was admitted to the California Bar later that year. During law school, Rick served as President of the Youth and Family Law Society and Vice President of the Latin American Law Students Association. He also contributed as an Associate Editor for the Golden Gate University Law Review.

Before law school, Rick completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Latin American Studies at California State University, Los Angeles.

Outside of work, Rick enjoys exploring different cuisines, spending time by the water—whether at a beach or a lake—and cheering on Los Angeles sports teams.

William joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate in 2024 after beginning his legal career at the firm as a clerk in 2023.

William graduated cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center in 2024. While in law school, he was a Senior Articles Editor for the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy and worked with the school’s Civil Justice Clinic.

Before law school, William attended Texas A&M University, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science in 2020.

Outside of work, William enjoys CrossFit and spending time with friends and family. He also enjoys supporting Texas A&M and University of Houston athletics.

David joined LLG's California office as an Associate in 2024. 

David has over twenty years of experience as a litigation and transactional attorney in diverse areas of law.  Within the past several years, David has increasingly transitioned his private practice areas into focusing more on advocating for the well-being of families and their children with limited resources.  These areas include conservatorships, guardianships, probate, homestead rights, and many other related or ancillary areas to help protect, preserve, and obtain the rights, benefits, and financial resources of those who need them the most. 

In addition, he is well adept in representing clients in administrative matters including mediation and other forms of efficient negotiations to help resolve matters before they escalate.  However, if litigation is necessary, David is an aggressive litigator with a wealth of experience in all facets of litigation. 

David's clients come from a wide range of backgrounds, all of whom needed important legal services but were unable to afford the high cost of legal services that are all too common in today’s legal environment.  It is important to have an experienced and passionate legal advocate who can help deserving children and their families navigate through the frequently cumbersome process of seeking benefits to which they are legally entitled to receive.  In this regard, David will work passionately as a contributing member of ot the firm.

Calvin joined the Lopez Law Group in the Summer of 2024.  Before joining the Lopez Law Group, Calvin practiced as a Plaintiff's personal injury attorney .

Calvin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied Chinese and English literature and ran track and cross country at Rhodes college in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating college, Calvin served in the US Army for 7 years as an artillery officer, including overseas assignments in Korea and Afghanistan. After leaving the military, Calvin attended law school at the University of Houston.

Henry began working for Lopez Law Group, PLLC in 2021. Prior to joining the firm, Henry accumulated years of experience advocating for and aiding numerous people in getting their social security benefits. In the past, Henry was engaged in a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping and otherwise acting as a liaison for Texas death row inmates, with a focus on those convicted under Texas’s law of parties. Now, he brings those strong advocacy skills to the firm, where he continues his mission to serve the community. 

Henry graduated from South Texas College of Law-Houston in 2019. During that time, he distinguished himself by earning a CALI (Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) award for Excellence in legal research and writing. Additionally, he participated in a study abroad program that gave him an opportunity to study international human rights while spending a summer in Ireland. He also served as one of the Academic Chairs for the Black Law Student Association from 2017 to 2018. Before graduating, he participated in the school’s mediation clinic and completed the training required to be a certified mediator.  

For his undergraduate studies, Henry attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2015. 

Matthew joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate in Spring of 2024. Prior to joining Lopez Law Group, Matthew practiced as a plaintiff personal injury attorney.

Matthew graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in May of 2023 and was licensed by the Texas Bar later that year. While in law school Matthew clerked with the Trinity County District Attorney.

Before law school, Matthew graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Accounting in 2020.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with his friends and family.
