Griffin King

Griffin joined Lopez Law Group in December of 2024.

Before law school, Griffin attended Indiana University, where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry in 2021.

Griffin Graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in May of 2024. While there, Griffin was a Head Senior Articles Editor for the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy and completed UH Energy’s Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage Executive Education Program.

Outside of work, Griffin enjoys fishing, strategy computer games, and supporting Indiana University athletics

Paul Guist

Paul Guist joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate Attorney in the winter of 2024 after earning his Juris Doctorate from Baylor Law School in Spring 2024 and passing the July 2024 bar exam.

During his time at Baylor Law, Paul participated in the Business Law Boot Camp and the Entrepreneurship Clinic, pursuing both the Business Planning and Business Litigation tracks. His experiences provided him with a solid foundation in transactional law and corporate dispute resolution.

Before attending law school, Paul graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.A. in Economics. Following his undergraduate studies, he worked as a professional photographer for eight years, specializing in automotive photography. His work in this field sharpened his attention to detail and cultivated a creative perspective, both of which he now brings to his legal practice.

Outside of work, Paul enjoys spending time with his seven-year-old pitbull mix, Bullitt. He also pursues his passion for the visual arts through film and television critique, combining his creative interests with a thoughtful analytical approach.

Erik "Rick" Camacho

Rick joined the Lopez Law Group California office as an Associate Attorney in November 2024.

He earned his Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University School of Law in May 2024 and was admitted to the California Bar later that year. During law school, Rick served as President of the Youth and Family Law Society and Vice President of the Latin American Law Students Association. He also contributed as an Associate Editor for the Golden Gate University Law Review.

Before law school, Rick completed his undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in Latin American Studies at California State University, Los Angeles.

Outside of work, Rick enjoys exploring different cuisines, spending time by the water—whether at a beach or a lake—and cheering on Los Angeles sports teams.

Calvin Boesch

Calvin joined the Lopez Law Group in the Summer of 2024.  Before joining the Lopez Law Group, Calvin practiced as a Plaintiff's personal injury attorney .

Calvin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. He studied Chinese and English literature and ran track and cross country at Rhodes college in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating college, Calvin served in the US Army for 7 years as an artillery officer, including overseas assignments in Korea and Afghanistan. After leaving the military, Calvin attended law school at the University of Houston.

Henry Cosey

Henry began working for Lopez Law Group, PLLC in 2021. Prior to joining the firm, Henry accumulated years of experience advocating for and aiding numerous people in getting their social security benefits. In the past, Henry was engaged in a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping and otherwise acting as a liaison for Texas death row inmates, with a focus on those convicted under Texas’s law of parties. Now, he brings those strong advocacy skills to the firm, where he continues his mission to serve the community. 

Henry graduated from South Texas College of Law-Houston in 2019. During that time, he distinguished himself by earning a CALI (Center for Computer-Assisted Legal Instruction) award for Excellence in legal research and writing. Additionally, he participated in a study abroad program that gave him an opportunity to study international human rights while spending a summer in Ireland. He also served as one of the Academic Chairs for the Black Law Student Association from 2017 to 2018. Before graduating, he participated in the school’s mediation clinic and completed the training required to be a certified mediator.  

For his undergraduate studies, Henry attended the University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy in 2015.

Matthew Morris

Matthew joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate in Spring of 2024. Prior to joining Lopez Law Group, Matthew practiced as a plaintiff personal injury attorney.

Matthew graduated from the University of Houston Law Center in May of 2023 and was licensed by the Texas Bar later that year. While in law school Matthew clerked with the Trinity County District Attorney.

Before law school, Matthew graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in Accounting in 2020.

Outside of work, Matthew enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with his friends and family.

Samantha Kyle

Samantha joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate in the Spring of 2024. Prior to joining Lopez Law Group, Samantha practiced as a Bad Faith Insurance Attorney.

Samantha graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in May of 2019. While in law school, Samantha led RD Hurd, a law clinic that provided pro bono family law services to low-income clients.

Before law school, Samantha graduated with honors from Houston Baptist University with a Double Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications.

Outside of work, Samantha coaches the HBU Mock Trial Team and teaches trial techniques and the rules of evidence. She also enjoys bowling, spending time with family and friends, and cheering for Oklahoma Sooners football.

Katie Thedford

Katie joined Lopez Law Group as an Associate in September of 2023. She worked as a Summer Associate at Lopez Law Group in the Summer of 2022 and recently passed the bar in July 2023.

Katie graduated from Baylor Law School in 2023. While in law school, she acted as the president of the Baylor Phi Alpha Delta organization and worked as a manager of the school’s IT department.

Before law school, Katie attended West Texas A&M University, graduating with a degree in Economics and Management in 2020. She was one of many students that year forced to graduate from their living room due to Covid.

Outside of work, Katie enjoys amateur photography, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.

Ryan Tatera

Ryan Tatera is an Associate at Lopez Law Group, PLLC. His practice focuses on personal injury and commercial litigation. He is admitted to practice in Texas state court and all four federal district courts in Texas. 

 A graduate of Baylor Law School, Ryan began his career at Lopez Law Group, PLLC, as a law clerk. While in law school, Ryan clerked at the Comal County District Attorney’s Office and the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office. Ryan was a member of the Christian Legal Society and Baylor Federalist Society. Ryan earned his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. 

Outside of work, Ryan enjoys playing tennis and hockey, spending time with his family, and rooting on Chicago sports teams (except the Cubs).

Erick Dimalanta

Erick Dimalanta is the managing partner of the firm's California office.

Erick is a veteran litigator with extensive experience in all aspects of complex civil litigation. He has resolved hundreds of lawsuits and pre-litigation disputes through motion, settlement, or decision. He has provided clients with high rates of resolution with beneficial settlement outcomes. He has handled cases from inception up to trial and effectively used dispositive motions and other pre-trial strategies to help clients resolve difficult cases through alternative dispute resolution programs. He regularly counsels clients and insurers in contract negotiations, risk transfer assessments, and the analysis of indemnity, insurance, and warranty obligations. He is determined to get the best possible results for his clients.

Erick obtained his J.D. from the UCLA School of Law in 1992 where he served as Executive Editor for the Asian Pacific Islands Law Journal. He obtained his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1989 with a degree in Political Science. He is licensed in California state and Federal district courts, including the California Court of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal. He is also licensed to practice in the State of Texas.
