Katie joined Lopez Law Group in September 2024.

She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Journalism at the University of Houston in 2011 and embarked on a career as an editor, which developed her skills as an editor and writer but also cultivated a strong interest in intellectual property. This interest led her to law school at the University of Houston Law Center.

At UHLC, as a part-time student, she served as a teaching assistant for Constitutional Law and as a research assistant for numerous projects. Her article Death and deeproot: Elder Financial Abuse in the Twenty-First Century was published by the Houston Journal of Health Law and Policy in February 2024, and she spent her final semester of law school as a legal intern with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston.  She graduated in May 2024 and sat for the July 2024 Bar Exam.

In her spare time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and their three dogs, and she is constantly on the lookout for good pens and notebooks.
